A Clear View of Hospital Noise
Hospital sounds change hour by hour and unit by unit. A single spot reading cannot show the pattern. We measure multiple units continuously for 24 hours to create a clear picture of a hospital’s sound environment. This allows hospital leaders to objectively understand the noise environment in their institution.
The assessment is setup on site by a MindWave audio engineer. This service is available at no cost to eligible hospitals in the continental United States.

MindWave reviews the request and contacts you to arrange a scheduling call and coordinate facility requirements.

MindWave conducts continuous, simultaneous measurement on as many as four eligible inpatient units.

Review the findings
Within seven calendar days, you receive the report and a consultation to discuss the results.
Eligibility
Designed for inpatient hospital environments
After receiving your request, we will work with you to coordinate any necessary approvals required for your facility.
Hospital requirements
- ✓Joint Commission-accredited inpatient hospital
- ✓More than 50 inpatient beds
- ✓Located in the continental United States
- ✓One no-cost assessment per hospital campus
Eligible measurement areas
Medical-surgical, intensive care, progressive or step-down, telemetry, labor and delivery, pediatric or neonatal, and other inpatient units.
Not eligible: emergency departments, behavioral health units, outpatient areas, or procedural areas.
